RICHMOND– Seventeen sports, arts and culture groups in Richmond are getting a boost of $434,450 thanks to the province’s community gaming grant program.

Richmond Minor Hockey Association – $88,200
Connaught Skating Club – $71,000
Richmond Girls Soccer Association – $50,000
Sport B.C. – $33,000
Richmond Ringette Association – $29,750
Richmond South Delta Minor Ball Hockey Association – $25,000
B.C. Table Tennis Association – $22,000
Baton Twirling Association of British Columbia – $20,000
Richmond Air Attack Volleyball Club – $19,200
Richmond Minor Football League – $16,800
Cinevolution Media Arts Society – $12,000
iDive Diving Academy Association – $12,000
Vancouver Wooden Boat Society – $10,000
Richmond Rugby Club – $10,000
Greater Vancouver Historical Performance Society of B.C. – $8,000
Richmond Youth Choral Society – $3,900
Kajaks Track and Field Club – $3,600

“Sports, arts and culture groups enrich our community and keep people active and engaged,” says John Yap, MLA for Richmond-Steveston. “Congratulations to these organizations on earning grants that support their great work.”

These grants are awarded under the Sport and Arts & Culture categories of the Community Gaming Grant Program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. Gaming Grants are also awarded in the categories of Public Safety, Environment and Human and Social Services.
